The previously unpopulated streets are filled with festivals, folklore, terraces with trays of food traveling from one table to another… humans, pigeons, blackbirds and city sparrows are also looking to fall in love in spring. Spaying or neutering does not desensitize our animals to all this stimulation, and they can also be more active, more sociable or have a special sparkle in their eyes if they are allowed to interact.
The coat changes and we can enhance this change with a little phytotherapy: with green nettle that for its richness in minerals strengthens hair growth, burdock that regulates the health of the skin from the inside or rosemary that promotes shine through capillary stimulation.
It is also the time of awakening of projects, of dreams, when it is not yet too hot or too cold. The animals are on the move, looking for mates and food, the whole countryside is moving and the behaviors of tracking, scouting, collecting, hunting or searching are intensified.
It is also a great time to explore the environment, create new mental maps and find safe places to spend the next winter. Our dogs are not yet as nocturnal as in summer, but they are starting to balance their circadian rhythms.
Let’s remember that “our” animals live in captivity and it is the routines of the herd that mark their awakening, their eating, going out, resting hours… It is time to reset what they have been doing for months. It is a time of great changes for them.
There are animals that are more sensitive and may be more affected by changes in routine. It is important animal communication, mutual respect and to achieve the perfect symbiosis in the multi-species family and strengthen our bond with them at every change.
Our whole organism changes. Our emotions, our nutrition, our physical body, the hormones we generate, what we think, what we do and from where we do it, changes when the sun shines brighter in the sky.
Let us be sincere lovers of our animals and listen to them with empathy and devotion every day that we accompany each other.
